            PSA for Mason County

            The Mason County Health Department and Mason District Hospital continue to work together to plan for and protect residents from the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (covid-19).    As of March 12th, there were no confirmed cases in Mason County

            Although data on the virus is still sparse, it is evident that covid-19 will continue to spread.  As such, it must be assumed that Mason County residents will encounter the virus at some point over the next year and many will get sick.  Most healthy individuals under the age of 60 will have only mild symptoms and will recover without treatment.  Some of us will contract the virus and not have any symptoms at all.  As such, for most of our citizens, taking the same precautions you take to avoid and care influenza is enough:

            1.  Stay 1分11选5平台 when sick,

            2.  Cover your cough,

            3.  Wash your hands for 20 seconds

            However, we are asking all of our residents to help us protect our friends and family who are most vulnerable by refraining from visiting seniors, whether in their 1分11选5平台, at long term care facilities, or at the hospital if you are experiencing even mild cold or influenza like symptoms which include:  fever, cough and difficulty breathing.  If your symptoms cannot be cared for at 1分11选5平台, CALL your health care provider before coming into the facility.

            The most up to date information can be found at dph.illinois.gov<http://dphillinois.gov/> and cdc.gov<http://cdc.gov/>. Also, we encourage residents to follow both the Mason County Health Department and Mason District Hospital face book page as we push out local information as soon as it’s available.

            TCMS 1分11选5平台 Doctor’s Day

            National Doctor’s Day is celebrated yearly in the United States on March 30.  It was first observed in 1933 in Winder, Georgia by Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond as a day to honor physicians. The first recognition was by sending greeting cards and placing flowers on graves of deceased physicians.

            In honor of America’s physicians, in 1990, Congress approved legislation Resolution #366 (Public Law 101-473) establishing National Doctor’s Day as March 30, 1991, and in 1991 the resolution was signed into law by President George H.W. Bush.

            National Doctor’s Day serves as a reminder for patients, staff, and colleagues to recognize the doctors who play an important role in our communities and our lives.  Tazewell County Medical Society would like to recognize the estimated 100 dedicated physicians who in some way serve the people of Tazewell County.  Please join us on Thursday, March 30 in recognizing the contributions of these dedicated men and women to the healthcare of our families and community by offering handwritten notes of appreciation and the symbolic red carnation.

            Illinois State Medical Society along with Tazewell County Medical Society would like to recognize and thank these local physician members who are the active voices of medicine in Tazewell County with the State of Illinois.

            2019 Members of Tazewell County Medical Society: Gregory Guard, M.D.-President; Alfred Rossi, M.D.-Past President; Daniel Baer, M.D. Emeritus; John Baer, M.D.;  George Beranek, M.D.; Tracy Bochantin, M.D.; Scott Carlson, M.D.; Daniel Hoffman, M.D.; James Hubler, M.D.; Gina Nord, M.D.; Rebecca Proehl, M.D.; Trent Proehl, M.D.; Janice Takata-Rossi, M.D.; Lawrence Rossi, Jr., M.D.; Matthew Rossi, M.D.; Phillip Rossi, M.D.; Brad Stoecker, M.D.; Gail Williamson, M.D.;
